Dutch state partly liable for Srebrenica massacre

Dutch state partly liable for Srebrenica massacre

The Supreme Court of the Netherlands upheld an earlier ruling that found the Dutch state partly liable for the deaths in 1995 of 350 Bosnian Muslim men. The case sets an international precedent for states’ liability when they contribute troops to peacekeeping operations. The court found that Dutch forces could have allowed those men to stay rather than handing them over to the Bosnian Serb troops.

From what I understand the greatly outnumbered Dutch attempted to evacuate the victims and because they didn’t succeed they’re somehow partly responsible for the deaths? What a disgrace.
