Drug-resistant malaria strains spread through south east Asia

Researchers have warned of drug-resistant forms of malaria-causing parasites that are spreading across south-east Asia. In twin studies, researchers revealed that in parts of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia up to 80 per cent of the most common malaria parasites were now resistant to the two most common antimalarial drugs.
