73-year-old rescued after 4 days in remote Oregon

A bicyclist has rescued a 73-year-old after he had been stranded last week in a remote part of southern Oregon for four days. Gregory Randolph had walked about 14 miles after his jeep got stuck in a dry creek bed. Randolph was discovered by Tomas Quinones on July 18. Randolph has since been released from the hospital and is at home recovering.

This. This is why I have so many power banks, and why I would bring a solar charger too to this kind of place. Plus a satellite phone if it was out of cell tower range.

As a 73-year-old man myself, I can assure you that most of us aren’t helpless.

Need one of these if you are going to be going far off the beaten path. Being about to walk more than 14 miles in 4 days would help too.
