Texas GOP lawmaker Will Hurd won’t run for election 2020

41-year-old Texas Rep. Will Hurd, the lone black Republican in the House, announced Thursday evening he won’t run for reelection in 2020. Not only is it a setback for the party democracy one less member who’s willing to speak out against President Trump. His exit makes it tougher for Republicans to hold onto his swing district near year.

Perfect segue for Candace Owens. House of Rep 2020, Senate 2024/6, then 2028/2032...... to the moon.

I live in his district. He is my representative and he will be missed. Bless you Will Hurd.

Agreed. I live in El Paso and he was the last voice of reason left in this district filled with nut jobs. He is just a baby boy, politically. I wonder what his angle is? He’s going after something bigger.

Looks like the spineless politicians are quitting instead of standing up to Trump.
