German customs seize 4.5 tons of cocaine, worth $1.1 billion

German authorities seized their single largest cocaine consignment to date when a container shipped from Uruguay en route to Belgium was checked, two weeks ago. The customs office in Hamburg said Friday 4.5 tons of cocaine worth an estimated street value of nearly 1 billion euros was found while the paperwork stated that it was loaded with soya beans.
