E3 data breach leaks info for thousands of registered journalists

The Electronic Software Association, organizers of gaming convention E3, accidentally leaked sensitive information like email addresses, addresses and phone numbers of more than 2,000 journalists who attended the show this year. The leak was spotted by YouTuber and gaming writer Sophia Narwitz, who notified E3’s organizer.

There's maybe 30 or 50 people who can be referred to as Journalists by SPJ standards among that group, the rest are blogposters and activist garbage with of course pedophiles mingled in given the recent trend I've been observing among left-leaning "journalists" getting jailed for trying to groom children and having child porn.

And nothing of any real value was lost

Yet another step on the road to obscurity for what used to be a highlight of my summer. Good riddance to you, E3.

Breach of privacy is breach of privacy. E3 should be facing fines for this, just like facebook does.

you know some of these "journalists" could have stopped this if maybe they had learned 2 code

Well, unfortunate but if they were giving their business info it would already be freely given public information. If it was personal, that's more on the people giving the info. Surely you had no expectations of privacy giving this to a group that will give it out (or sell) to anyone...

Except she was only the one that broke the story not the individual that discovered it... Pretty sure those that discovered it were either savy computer users or litterally black hats.

Haha, th e gaming 'journalists' turn to get doxxed. What we really need is a massive leak revealing the corruption between big publishing houses and the useless idiots who get paid to give their games good reviews.

A few decent people got doxxed. I hope Young Yea is alright.

Slightly off topic but I don’t hear journalists as journalists anymore It’s just liars and activists

2000 journalists do not exist on planet earth in 2019, let alone in the electronic gaming scene. These people are all just bribed fanboys for various publishers. No empathy for them.
