’The Hunt’ canceled after Trump slams movie in tweet

The release of The Hunt by Universal Pictures has been cancelled following a series of mass shootings and criticism from US President Donald Trump. The Hunt, a satirical film in which liberals hunt Trump supporters and kill them for sport, was due to be released on 27 September. Universal said the decision was made after ’thoughtful consideration.’

As the majority of Americans took issue with such a movie being released at such a time in this country, and again it was Trump. For the love of god, he was only 1 of thousands of people calling it out.

A movie about killing people based on their political views. What could possibly go wrong?

They should release it so it can fail instead of becoming a cult oddity that people will seek out.

Just release it. I want to see what Hollywood elites really think.

Replace "satire" with "propaganda". Throw in "incitement to violence" for good measure. There, fixed it for you BBC News.

You see! Its liberals that actually support violence, not us MAGA nerds! Our rhetoric is of peace, justice, and security! Hail Hit...Trump!

I think this movie should definitely be released and I’m a republican but in saying that, I do not think right now is the time. With all the shootings and civil unrest America is more divided today than probably the civil war. I believe in free speech that being said there is a time and a place for everything. Some of my favorite movies were under similar scrutiny when they first came out such as a clockwork orange though I doubt this movie will skim the surface of a classic like that people still have a right to see it. I say hold onto it and wait for the right time for a release. When that would be no one knows especially with the direction we’ve been heading.

What the fuck. Why would that be an acceptable TV show even before the shootings

Hollywood should stick to re-hashing tired, dull old franchises with woke all female casts. Nobody in the US movie industry is bright enough to do anything original.
