The latest ads, for Volkswagen and Philadelphia cream cheese; are the first casualties of a British ban on gender stereotypes in advertising. They were investigated by the UK Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) after viewers complained they perpetuated gender stereotypes.

People need to grow a pair sterotypes arent harmful when you think they are you end up like Fredo and threaten to throw someone down a flight of stairs for hurtin your feelings. If you get offended just move on its not going to hurt anyone physically.

I have been amused by the strong commitment to principle the UK has shown in enforcing these censorship laws. I'm not a fan but I don't live there so I don't have to be. It does provide a useful demonstration of why censorship will not work out the way a partisan of any side thinks when they advocate for it. The UK just skips the middle steps and goes strait for equal censorship for all.
