Scientists reverse aging in rat stem cells

New research by a team of scientists from the University of Cambridge has demonstrated a way to rejuvenate old, dysfunctional brain stem cells. The feat was achieved by removing a protein causing stiffness which sits on the surface of brain cells called OPC. By doing so, the OPC was tricked into perceiving a soft surrounding environment enabling them to assume their normal regenerative function.
