Turkish army pension fund to buy British Steel

Turkey’s military pension fund has reached a tentative deal to buy British Steel out of insolvency. The Turkish Armed Forces Assistance Fund plans to take over British Steel by the end of the year. British Steel was put into compulsory liquidation in May after rescue talks with the government broke down.

Selling your remaining steel industry to a not-too-friendly MILITARY pension fund seems kind of stupid, tbh. But then, the UK Government has long ago dropped any pretence of actually caring about the future of the nation.

You’re giving the roaches what is left of the industry. Nice.

If we weren't forced to put public supply contracts out to the entire EU, our new warships might be using British steel. But they're not. And if the EU hadn't gone and made sure they got into a crisis by implementing carbon credit agreements from May's unratified deal and taking away all the free credit allowance, they might not be in the mess. And if EU rules meant the UK government could help them out, they might not be in this fucking state. This ENTIRE mess is the work of the EU, by limiting contracts which should be kept in-house for security reasons, by dumping over 100 million quid in extra costs on them with no warning and then ensuring member states can't give aid to companies without the permission of the commission. Evil bastards are taking the jobs of innocent people just to fuck with the UK.
