UK may face food shortages in a no-deal Brexit

Leaked British memos warn of serious disruptions across the country in the event that the UK leaves the European Union without a trade deal on Oct. 31, according to a report. It said disruptions to the supply of drugs and medicine, a decrease in the availability of fresh food and even potential fresh water shortages due to possible interruptions of imported water treatment chemicals are possible.

Yup, just like how they said if the referendum ended in Brexit the economy would be crippled. Or if Trump was elected the world would end. Or if Boris was elected there would be a civil war. Or if Trump doesn't back down North Korea would nuke the US. Scaremongering and screaming "Its the end of the world!" doesn't work any more than the crazy guy on the street corner with the sign saying "Repent the end is neigh!"

So the media reports the worst case. What is the best case? Why is this never, and I mean never, reported?

Brexit is starting to remind me of the Y2K hysteria where people were afraid that computers would stop working and satellites would fall out if the sky. What actually happened on Jan. 1. 2000? Nothing.

BS everything is available. Just because EU suppliers are playing silly bugger does not mean you cannot get the supplies you need, at even better prices, elsewhere. The world is much bigger than the EU. Good lord the UK itself represents nearly 50% of the GDP of the EU. Stop thinking you so small.

Unmmm call the US we wouldn’t let that happen if for no other reason than just to prove the EU is a bad idea

You can have some of our food. We pay farmers not to grow in the United States. We will send you corn to start. Sound good?

Lies. The world is queueing to sell food to Britain. Where there is demand, there is supply, and Britain gets to pick the best deals from every country on planet Earth. That is the advantage of leaving the 4th Reich, sorry, the EU.

I doubt it. Britain would have to be isolated. It would have to be like in the time of war.

Project fear a load of old hat. All those Remainers seem to have forgotten that we grow food in Britain. The NHS have assured the supply of drugs. It's all nonsense from the fear merchants who will be proved absolutely wrong after we leave on 31st October.
