President Trump dismissed concerns of a recession on Sunday, offering instead an optimistic outlook for the economy. ’We’re doing tremendously well. Our consumers are rich. I gave a tremendous tax cut and they’re loaded up with money’, said Trump to reporters. Earlier Larry Kudlow, Trump’s economic adviser, dismissed fears of a looming recession.

General economic prosperity under Bush: "Clinton did that". Housing bubble burst under Bush: "totally Bush's fault!" Recession under Obama: "it was Bush who laid the groundwork that caused this." Economic upturn under Trump: "Obama did it!" Recession under Trump: "Trump did it!"
