US won’t give flu vaccines to migrants in border detention centers

Three children died from flu while detained at the border, but the US government says it doesn’t plan on giving the flu shot to migrant families. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a statement to CNBC that, typically, no vaccines are administered in any of its facilities. Immigration advocates reported that detention centers are riddled with open toilets and a lack of soap and water.

More propaganda the current flu vaccine isnt effective on the current flu strain so the shot is nothing more than a placebo so why spend the tax dollars.

As other articles have pointed out, the Flores agreement limits the time period that immigrants can be held for - 20 days, maximum. I strongly doubt that the children who died did so _because_ of the flu; much more likely to be due to complications from the horrible trip from their home country to the US, and probably picked up the flu from a weakened immune system. And, a flu vaccine won't help if you already have the flu.
