Belgian parade goes ahead despite racism objections

A Belgian street parade featuring a character called ’Savage’ played by a person in blackface makeup went ahead despite criticism. The character moved through the streets of the town of Ath near Brussels, on Sunday, chained and wielding a wooden stick. Anti-racism group Brussels Panthers urged the UNESCO to remove the festival from its cultural heritage list if the character is not removed.

Oh! Look! a piece of old culture that has nothing to do with black people, created by people who had probably never seen black people, involves painting their skin black. Surely the ONLY reason this is possible is because racism travels though time now.
