US durable goods orders increase 2.1% in July

Orders for durable goods rose 2.1 per cent in July, the Commerce Department said Monday. This is the second straight monthly gain. The gain in orders was led by transportation, mainly Boeing orders. Excluding that sector, orders fell 0.4 per cent, the biggest drop since March.
