Amazon’s Ring has partnerships with over 400 US police agencies

Amazon’s Ring has released an official map detailing every police department that’s partnered with it. The map lets one see if their local police force is among the hundreds working with the Amazon-owned video doorbell company. The map currently shows 405 police departments partnered with Ring.

I'm not sure what people expect here. If I am the sort of person to buy a video doorbell, and some ass steals a package of my front lawn then I will WANT the cops to have the video so maybe they can find the perp. I understand that we're taking Amazon at their word, that they don't share any video or feed unless the owner authorizes it, but we'll have to wait and see if they do. The truth will be found out eventually. The first time someone is convicted for something they said in front of their Alexa, millions of people with throw that thing away. Until then... feels like we're going a bit Alex Jones here. I don't own either device, for the record.
