Woman wrongfully jailed for 35 years awarded $3 million in compensation

68 year old Cathy Woods, who served 35 years in prison, was given $3 million in compensation, due to wrongful imprisonment. Ms. Woods was falsely accused of murdering fellow Reno college student Michelle Mitchell in 1976.

I think this is a good thing. Sounds like she is still needing to be cared for with regards to her mental illness.

Sounds like the plot for the tv show Rectify. They never quite got to the part where he got paid out for being falsely incarcerated. Guess that would have been in season 5 if they'd made it.

That's so damn sad. Even after 35 years she has a gentle smile, I hope she finds satisfaction the rest of her life.
