Okay the real story is an overly literal reading of a repeat offenders law leads to man getting sentenced to life for multiple burglary’s. One of which only invoked stealing 50 dollars.

Common person steals $50, gets 36 years in prison. Meanwhile, Epstein & accomplices traffic and f*ck underage girls on his Pedo Island, and despite Epstein clearly being murdered, everyone else walks away scott-free. 🤡🌎

He shouldn’t have spent 35 yrs in prison, but to say he was given a life sentence for stealing $50 is disingenuous.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW I KNOW AN INMATE AT RIVER NORTH CORRECTIONAL CENTER STILL IN JAIL AFTER 17 PLUS YEARS. I KNOW HE HAS APPEALED HIS SENTENCE MANY TIMES. HE ROBBED A STORE WITH A TOY GUN. HE IS DECORATED MARINE FROM VIETVAM. HE HAS TAKEN EVERY ACADEMIC COURSE FOR REHABILITATION AND PASSES EVERY ONE. HE DOES NOT HAVE ONE INFRACTION AGAINST HIM, YET PAROLE BOARD STILL SAYS HE IS ADANGER TO THE PUBLIC. THE POWER OF CONTROL IS UNDAUNTING HE IS NOW A SENIOR CITIZEN ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE ON GERIATIC GROUNDS THIS JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF THOUSANDS OF MEN INCARCERATED TODAY. THEY WILL NOT RELEASE HIM GOD BLESS YOU HENRY BURTON.

He robbed people at knife point, and was a repeated offender. He committed multiple armed robbery before this. That is why his sentence was so severe. I'm curious, would y'all feel better if he had stolen $50 million instead of 50 bucks, and was locked up for 36 years? Was his sentence "unfair" because the amount stolen was so little? Does it make his crime more or less agregious if the amount of money stolen was different? In any case, I don't think anyone should be locked up for that long for stealing. Such a severe sentence should only be reserved for criminals who have taken a life or severely injured someone during commission of a crime.
