China’s Didi Chuxing to launch self-driving pickup service in Shanghai

China’s Didi Chuxing, a rival to Uber, said on Friday it will launch self-driving vehicles to act as ride-sharing vehicles in Shanghai. In the pilot program, 30 cars will begin with Level 4 self-driving capability. Level 4 self-driving cars do not need to hand controls back to a human should something go wrong, but autonomy remains limited to certain modes or locations.

How? There aren’t accurate GPS maps of China. All of them are geographically stretched by the Chinese Government for some weird defense grid. I foresee a lot of cars driving off of bridges and into fields, shops, kids, sidewalks...

They say that. Then it'll turn out there is just a 12 year old hidden in the drivers seat doing all the driving.
