Germany apologises to Poland on anniversary of Nazi invasion

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has asked his Polish counterpart for forgiveness at an event marking the 80th anniversary since the invasion of the country, an incident which sparked WWII. Leaders from across the world met in Poland to take part in the day-long observances. The commemorations moved to the Polish capital, where US VP Mike Pence took part in another ceremony.

Lmao... Nearly everyone involved in the decision making process or in fighting of the war is dead. Stop apologizing.

Germany should not apologize for the mistakes of its past. It should strive to learn and improve on them.... No... Germany!?! This isn’t what I meant by... What have you done to Greece? Haven’t we been over this before? Now you’ve done and gotten all of Europe on board?

It seems self serving and trite to apologise now. Does this have anything to do with Poland being suspicious about the EU?. Is Germany trying to distract viseguard?. Germany had years and years to apologise if they felt the need so why now?.

the sad reality is we should be thanking them for the semi-global unification the war brought along with the technical and economic boom. Despite the death toll it was one of the best things to happen to humanity. I suppose its hard to view Hitler as the one who unified the western world, but its much easier to get along when you have a common enemy and are united by a common goal of defeating that enemy.

Guilt by Association. This is social engineering, and its working. Feel guilty for your nation, your race, and your priviledge.

Funny thing is if Poland officially accepted the apology, it wouldn't bring anyone back. However, they could actually help Poland today by not fucking over Europe anymore, through pushing leftist bullshit through the EU.
