Trump rolls back regulations on energy-saving light bulbs

The Trump administration has rolled back another Obama-era initiative. The Department of Energy finalized a rule Wednesday that will block new federal efficiency standards for certain light bulbs from going into effect as scheduled in January. Critics say the rule change will lead to higher electricity bills and harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

Why do you even need to mandate that people use energy saving light bulbs? Do normal people not want to save money? I didn't even know there were such regulations in the works, but when the electric company started raising their prices, my family just automatically switched out all our light bulbs for energy efficient ones to save on the electricity bill. Stop regulating every single damn thing. Just give people a logical incetive to change and they'll change.

The government should not be regulating these things; instead, provide incentives for behavior/tech changes. And anyways, the industry is free to continue with the Obama regulations if they so choose; they just are not being legally required to.
