Hong Kong extradition bill withdrawn

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has formally withdrawn the island’s extradition bill. The withdrawal comes following three months of protests in the city by pro-democracy demonstrators. Besides announcing the withdrawal, Lam also said two senior officials would join an existing inquiry into police conduct during the protests.
