US productivity climbs 2.3% in second quarter

The US Labor Department said Thursday that overall productivity rose at a seasonally adjusted annual pace of 2.3 per cent in the April-June period. However, manufacturing productivity fell 2.2 per cent in the quarter, the worst performance since a 4 per cent drop in the third quarter of 2017.

Productivity up building houses no one is buying. Job creation is down as house building season ends. The stats are meaningless because they are measuring the wrong things. Gig, seasonal and contract job creation is bogus. Permanent jobs with benefits count.
