California jury acquits one man of manslaughter in warehouse fire

A California jury on Thursday acquitted Max Harris, 29, for the 2016 Ghost Ship warehouse fire that killed 36 in California. The jury did not reach a verdict on the charges against Harris’ co-defendant, Derick Almena, 49, defense attorneys and Alameda County prosecutors said.

Thank God these men weren't found guilty of a crime they did not commit. They had no direct control over the start of the fire or any underlying factors that made the deaths possible. Sure you could argue that they were negligent but that argument belongs in civil not criminal court. I expect a wrongful death suite to be coming as that is the only rational case for these two.
