Australian internet providers told to block websites hosting Christchurch terror

Since the attacks in Christchurch in 2019, Australian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) blocked a total of 43 websites that hosted or shared the abhorrent content but without much guidelines in place on the repercussions. Finally, Australian eSafety commissioner Julie Grant ordered to continue blocking 8 of these sites.

Its very easy to see powrs such as this being misused for specfic political narratives. I'm more concerned by the NZ government's acts around the manifesto and dont know if the Australian Goverment has done similar. In particular the PM in my view mischaracterised the political stance of the killer, possibly an accident based on poor info but regardless its important that access to source material is available to all and not just to those who might have political motivations to lie about whats in it or omit inconvenient parts.
