Yang announced money giveaway during Democratic debate

Unlike any presidential candidate before, Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang spiced Thursday’s primary debate by announcing in his opening statement that he would give away $1,000 a month — $12,000 a year — to each of 10 randomly selected families as part of a pilot program for his universal basic income proposal.

Ugh! Actually bribing people with $1k each month! He is coming across as super desperate.

Why not just lower taxes, isn't that achieving the same goal? Everyone has more money in their pockets.

Is that even allowed per campaign laws? Why wouldn't some billionaire start handing out money to (wink wink) help people?

Giving 1000$/month in a microcosm isn't going to prove anything! Communism works in a microcosm aka the nuclear family, expand it to a nation and millions of people die!

Government cannot give you anything that it hasn’t first taken away.

He is such a weak unprincipled candidate! "we should trust ourselves more than the government" while at the same time his only talking point is to have the government redistribute money under the cloak of the "freedom dividend"!

Hello fellow kids, I too like to watch the football! Please vote for me, and I will give everyone free money, and I will make it so recess and classes are switched, and I will ban homework, so you only have to do an hour of class a day, and the rest of the time you can go outside!

Please listen to an interview with Yang, I disagreed at first, but if you are truly looking for honest discussion, listen to what he has to say in entirety. I believe in the trickle down economic model, but It seems evident that coming changes in technology will drastically change our work environment, such as the introduction of self diving Semi trucks. I understand the emotional reaction, and I definitely don't want to raise taxes, but just sit and listen. Yang is a clear speaking, focused guy unlike most of the globalists on the left.
