Kroger supermarket chain plans drone delivery tests in Ohio and California

Kroger will begin testing drone delivery this week to select areas around one store in Centerville, Ohio. The drones are capable of carrying up to 5 pounds of groceries which can be delivered to the real-time location of the customer. The retail giant boasts a 15 minute store to door time frame. Kroger also announced summer plans to test drone delivery at a Ralph’s branded store in California.

California already has enough drones to deliver to........Oh, you meant the drones would do the delivering. Honest mistake.

Am I the only one thinking about the evolution of the “porch pirate”? I get to see an item being delivered more visibly and if the drone makes it through target practice to get to my door, hopefully my items aren’t full of holes from a random opportunist. :)
