Twitter testing ’hide replies’ feature

Twitter is testing a new feature which allows users in the US and Japan, tired of seeing hurtful or irrelevant remarks on their tweets, hide the replies. Twitter has been under pressure to do more to combat abuse and harassment on its platform. The social media platform said the ability to hide tweets would give users ’more control’ over their conversations.

Good to see somebody making positive moves. Unlike their bigger brothers. They have no time for bothering

Here's a direct quote on how it will work on Twitter: Now, the person who tweeted the original comment gets to decide which replies stay and which are hidden from other users. Clicking on the right hand menu of a tweet brings up the set of normal options (hide, mute, follow) with “Hide reply” now added to the list. Once selected, the reply will be hidden from other users, though they can still see it by clicking on an icon that brings up all the hidden tweets, so long as they’re brave enough to wade through.
