Rare protest in Cairo after online call for dissent

In a rare protest, hundreds gathered in central Cairo and several other Egyptian cities late on Friday against President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. This was in response to an online call for a demonstration against government corruption. Police arrested some of the demonstrators. Protests have become very rare in Egypt following a broad crackdown on dissent under Sisi.

So dissent to protest the corruption of SiSi has been responded to with brutal force... shocking.

Sorry, but when you give most of these Muslim-dominant nations democracy they vote for theocracy. The Egyptian army rightly distrusts protesters as Muslim Brotherhood extremists. They're the only guardians of secular society and however corrupt they may be they're far better than the Iranian or Saudi alternatives.
