Glacier on Europe’s highest mountain at risk of collapse

Part of a glacier on Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain, is at risk of collapse. A section estimated to contain up to 250,000 cubic metres of ice could fall down the mountain, a mayor of a nearby town said in a statement. A main road has been closed and huts have been evacuated following the warning. Italian PM Conte, speaking at the UNGA Tuesday, said the situation should ’shake us all’.

Can someone provide us with some evidence that glaciers are suppose to last forever? And perhaps that these glaciers have been around since the beginning of Earth? If they haven't then shouldn't glaciers be deemed invasive structures that should be removed? 👻🍻
