Senate confirms Eugene Scalia as labor secretary

The Senate on Thursday voted to confirm Eugene Scalia to be the next U.S. labor secretary. The Senate voted 53-44 to approve President Trump’s nomination of Scalia. Democrats objected to Scalia’s appointment while saying he has spent his career undermining worker protections and is unfit for the job. Scalia has large companies, including Walmart and Facebook, in lawsuits brought by employees.
