Pentagon to send radar, Patriot missiles to bolster Saudi defenses

The Pentagon said Thursday it plans to send four radar systems, a battery of Patriot missiles and about 200 support personnel to bolster Saudi Arabia’s defenses. The deployment is seen to be more limited than U.S. officials previously reported. President Trump has said that he believed his military restraint so far showed ’strength’.

Patriot missiles CAN shoot down a drone. But for less than the cost of a single missile you can overwhelm every single Patriot battery in existence with drones. This is an example of the interia of large countries which have yet to properly adapt to irregular tactics being employed by smaller actors. Patriots are for aircraft, cruise missiles and ICBM RVs (the newer ones can determine decoy from live RV which is fucking awesome). Using them against a drone threat is massive overkill.
