Senator Warren proposes reinstating Office of Technology Assessment

As part of her campaign, Sen. Elizabeth Warren has announced that she will seek to reinstate the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA) to ensure lawmakers have an impartial source of expertise to drawn on when drafting legislation fit for the modern era. Between 1972 and 1995, the OTA provided Congress with expert advice to guide policy decision-making in fields involving tech.

I don't trust Elizabeth Warren even a little bit to tackle censorship. If she were the one leading the charge, she'd probably make it worse. Imagine the insanity of the ADL times a thousand, monitoring everything you post.

So she wants to resurrect a highly partisan government agency and create sinecures to liberal hacks in academia. I love that Gizmodo completely discounted any Republican criticism of that unaccountable agency, even implying it was shuttered because it warned about climate change when a mere decade prior said "scientists"were squawking about a new ice age. No thanks. Starve the beast.

Shouldn't this be under the Politics section?

Don't mind when Warren is just talking about her crazy ideas and misguided policies, but when she actually tries to do something: that scares me.

Non-partisan? How will that happen?

Warren: I'll break up the tech. monopolies... I'll put them into an agency advising the legislature! what could go wrong? SMH.

the difference between the left and the right is that the left actually admits when the other side has a good idea. I mean the grassroots left.

So, how did that work out for us leading up to the dot com burst?

Just like New York and California censoring "hate speech" like illegal alien, man-holes, criminal, etc. Yeah... I see where the Democratic priorities lie.
