Pope decries world’s indifference to migrants and refugees

Pope Francis at his Sunday mass scolded countries that produce weapons for wars fought elsewhere and then refuse to take in refugees fleeing the same conflicts. Francis’ sermon for 40,000 people in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday linked the issues of war and migration as the Roman Catholic Church marked its World Day of Migrants and Refugees. He bemoaned the world as becoming ’elitist and cruel’.

Fuck off you phoney Christian. If you’re so concerned about refugees, why don’t you let some live in the Vatican? Oh right, rules for thee but not for me.

The Pope is trying to go SJW, but SJWs think the church is: homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic etc. Guess he doesn't know how much of an intolerant bigot he is. Oh and he's coming from a place of privilege with his savior complex.

Telling people to go back to their own country and apply for entrance is not indifference... however, ignoring people coming into your country is.

Ugh... As a Catholic I've despised this Pope's sermonizing since day one. Unlike European and North American Catholicism, the Latin American church has corrupted itself by weaving its way into the secular realm. I miss Pope Benedict, the quiet professional. He never gave a Church position on climate, refugees, or politicians; the most political he got was offering to mediate peace negotiations in the the ME and Africa.

Refugees do need help, but there are most likely many people pretending to be refugees as well. Furthermore, helping those in need does not require letting vast numbers of foreign people colonize other countries. Once the storm passes, they should all return to their homes. If they don't do that, then it will only cause ethnic and/or religious conflict in the future.

Those weapons fuel all of those wars; here the Pope does have a point. However, taking in all of these individuals from war-torn countries cannot be the lone solution. It is very demanding in terms of resources and it does not cut to the matter at hand: we do not need all of these wars in the first place. That, and there are also people who abuse the goodwill of countries for their own selfish benefit.

Okay look he has a point in that the us did destroy these nations and helping people in need is the right thing to do but he’s wrong in that he presumes that the migrants pose no security threat. If he thinks they’ll merely go home no questions asked once their nations stabilize he’s mistaken. Not to mention the fact that he should be trying to gather Christians to Europe’s not members of of religion that has besieged his home town several times. Edit upon further reflection the us did nothing to ruin Africa they fucked the sleeves up on their own and a shocking number of these migrants are just blacks that want money so I take back what I said the pope should actually familiarize himself with an issue before weighing in on it like this

There are many things you can say people feel about immigration. "Indifferent" is not among them.
