China’s official manufacturing PMI higher than expected

A study of China’s manufacturing activity by Caixin said the Markit factory Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), was 51.4 for September — the highest reading since February 2018. The latest data was much higher than the 50.2 that analysts polled by Reuters had expected and the 50.4 recorded in August.

An admittance that the trade sanctions are definitely having a strong effect; otherwise China would not be making such strong efforts to prevent it in the immediate term like they have been. I bet next time it won't be such good news though, unless they deal.
