NYPD Officer was killed by friendly fire

The 7 year veteran was shot twice by fellow officers while wrestling for control of his firearm with the suspect. Police Commissioner James O’Neill said Officer Brian Mulkeen, 33, was shot by police gunfire during the confrontation in the Bronx. Investigators previously suggested that the suspect Antonio Williams wrestled away Mulkeen’s gun while the pair were on the ground.

I wish they would stop calling it "friendly fire". In a civilian/domestic situation it is usually done by over eager cops that are too trigger happy. Their training is to shoot first and keep shooting.
