Pakistan, Taliban call for Afghan peace talks to resume

Pakistan and the Taliban militant group urged the US to resume peace talks in Afghanistan as soon as possible. ’Both sides agreed on the need for the earliest resumption of the peace process’, Pakistan’s foreign office said in a statement on Thursday. President Trump halted talks with the group last month after it carried out a bomb attack in Kabul that killed 12 people, including a U.S. soldier.
