US jobless rate falls to 50-year low of 3.5%

The US unemployment rate fell to 3.5 per cent in September from 3.7 per cent, with the economy adding 136,000 jobs last month. August data was revised up to 168,000 jobs created instead of the previously reported 130,000.

As much as I would like to cheer what is the workplace participation number. The unemployment number is nice but you are no longer counted amount the unemployed if you stop Receiving benefits

Unemployment is not a good measure of our economy. We need to measure change in income against inflation and market basket decline.
