As bad as deepfakes are, isn't this kinda against the first amendments? Are deepfakes considered free speech?

At most this will only address the symptom, not the cause. The issue is about how we can filter lies from the truth. The tendency to fall for the actual fake news spread by those without credible sources is just right next door to deepfakes. We need to educate ourselves on how to fact check the news.
