Talks with Damascus eyed by Syrian Kurdish official

A Syrian Kurdish official said on Tuesday that there may be talks between Kurdish-led authorities in northern Syria, and Damascus, and Russia. This will be done to fill in the space left by the US after the withdrawal of their forces from the Turkish border.

I'm sympathetic to Kurdistan being independent. They are culturally, linguistically and often religiously different from the Arab/Turkish/Iraqi world.

Anyone else notice how the media get a sudden case of Kurd-fever the moment any western nation mentions the possibility of pulling out of the never-ending sand war?

We shouldn't even be in the region, or any other country, to begin with. I say let them fight their own fights unless they specifically ask us for help. Withdraw from the region and all others, close our bases, bring all our military home. Other countries and populations can do just fine on their own (for the most part). See? This is proof. We announce that we're withdrawing from the region and the Kurds agree to talks with Damascus.

I'm conflicted I dont want the US involved in anymore of these endless wars but as a Christian I know the Kurds will be left vulnerable to attacks from Muslims. I'm honestly okay with them finding help else where. fuck it I'll run guns to em
