GM strike impacts 150,000 auto industry workers: consulting firm

Negotiations between automaker GM and the United Auto Workers union hit a snag Tuesday over what the union says is a lack of commitment by GM to build new vehicles in U.S. factories. The strike by 49,000 workers is now in its 23rd day, and has cost the company production of 165,000 cars and trucks. It has passed the point where GM could manage the low production.
