US air strikes on Afghan drug labs unlawful, says UN

The UN has called the US air strikes on alleged Taliban drug labs in Afghanistan in May unlawful and a violation of international humanitarian law as the victims were non-combatants. The strikes killed or wounded at least 39 civilians, including 14 children. The US Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) has rejected the UN report and maintained that there were no casualties.
