Poland’s ruling conservative party to remain in power for another four years

Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party is all set to keep its ruling majority after a general election on Sunday says an exit poll conducted by the research firm Ipsos. The poll projected that Law and Justice won 43.6% of the votes. That would translate into a majority of seats — 239 —in the 460-seat lower house of parliament.

Well I don't know.. Maybe it's because they prioritize the interests of their nation and it's constitutents perhaps?

This is an interesting sign, globally. Poland, Hungary, the US, and others have adopted non-Leftist governments. Should make things better all around!

Be smart don't put communists in power, ever.

They're not really that conservative. They've put into place a few communist policies anyway, such as banning shopping on Sundays and various welfare programs which they happily advertise as more social equity to be achieved by higher taxation.

"Opposition groups and Poland’s EU partners have said that during its four years in power PiS has undermined the independence of the judiciary, forced public media to promote its agenda and taken other steps to quell dissent."

It's not really as good as it sounds. The major reasons why this specific party won election again was that there is no real political opposition here. Also, they promised many social welfare programs such as 500PLN for every child, additional pension etc. without solid economical plans how to get money for that, which is why taxes are raising and inflation gets crazy. I really don't want to say that they bought people votes with their own money, but it sure looks lile that....

I don't think this bodes well, as an indication of societal and economic growth, with the amount of governments promoting nationalism at such extremes. Such nationalism does not promote an open relationship between countries. It also reflects badly on the treatment those who are considered part of the LGBT community in such countries are subject to. I suppose I should be glad that the parties in my country are basically all left leaning, some just more left than others.

Good! Us Slavs have been getting screwed for centuries, we need to be self-interested until we catch up with the West.
