Turkey claims to have captured a key Syrian border town

Turkey said Saturday it had captured a key Syrian border town, as its offensive against Kurdish fighters pressed into its fourth day. Turkish troops entered central Ras al-Ayn according to Turkey’s Defense Ministry, marking the most significant gain since the invasion began Wednesday. The ministry tweeted, ’Ras al-Ayn’s residential center has been taken under control’.

Who didn't know this was comming.. These kurds , who were our allies in defeating Isis, never attacked across the Turkish border... What business does Turkey to cross the border and attack them while we stand down and let a faithfull ally , women and children ,get decimated.

The US has no allies.... only useful idiots, these useful idiots made the wrong call.... Syria will sit back and watch while Turks commit actual war crimes against civilians— and we won’t talk about it, because those “ victims” aren’t worth shit,,, just like the people of Yemen The Kurds shoulda stayed friendly with Assad....

Funny how just a year ago, Kurds had free reign over passing through the Syria-Turkey border when Asad and Erdogan were in bad terms. When the Kurds where in a 3 way war with Isis and the Syrian national guard, they would hit a syrian target retreat over the border and see the stearing contests between the Turkish and the Syrian armies, the go back from other point of the border and repeat. Even when Turkey shot down the Russian fighter, and the russian pilot that survived was killed by the Kurds, we end up seeing months later pictures of Putin, Asad and Erdogan holding hands.

The Kurds have the truly advantageous privilege of having their image whitewashed by the media.

NATO should call an emergency meeting and drop the hammer on a NATO member Turkey for taking such an action without NATO members authorizing what is a clear violation of international law, and aggressive act of war against a neighboring nation, a self serving act that puts fellow NATO members in a possible position of having to come to Turkeys aid if things don’t go well for them. Shouldn’t membership in an organization such as NATO come with some responsibilities and accountability ?
