12-year-old handcuffed, charged with felony for pointing ’finger gun’ in class

A 12-year-old girl was hauled out of school in handcuffs and charged with a felony for making a finger gun with her hands. The girl from Overland Park, Kansas, made the gesture during a class discussion last month in which another student asked which classmates she would kill if she could pick five. A school resource officer recommended she be arrested.

Wow, they have really one-upped every previous school hysteria story with this one. I remember a story where a boy was expelled for pointing a stick at other children outside at recess. The principle called his parents to take him home. Now you're gonna take a 10 year old girl, who didn't use any object, away in handcuffs? How much further can we go from here? Police responding with a swat team because a child made gun noises with his mouth?

There goes playground 'cops & robbers'... what's next, banning dodgeball as too violent?

I bet that wasn't traumatizing, not at all. Public school systems need their policies reviewed, examined, and approved by the community before they get implemented.
