A trio wins Nobel in economics for their contributions to fight poverty

Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer have been awarded the Nobel Prize in economics for their work to alleviate global poverty. The three, who collaborate in their research, have developed methods to identify the most effective interventions to fight poverty through field studies. ’We try to address this problem as scientifically as possible’, explained Duflo in a press conference.
