IMF downgrades outlook for world economy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is further downgrading its outlook for the world economy, predicting that growth this year will be the weakest since 2008. The new forecast predicts global growth of 3% this year, down 0.2 percentage point from its previous forecast in July. For the US this year, the IMF projects a 2.4% gain, down from 2.9% in 2018.
