Clashes continue in Catalonia for third day

Rioting raged in Barcelona and several other Catalan towns for a third straight night Wednesday caused by convictions handed down to leaders of a failed bid to declare an independent state. Tens of thousands of protesters faced off against police in Barcelona. Some set up flaming barricades in the streets, torching cars and trash cans.

Some African nations let separatists secede; the new nation ends up being surrounded by the original nation and forced to trade on their terms. Makes me wonder why Spain doesn't do something similar with Catalan.
