Tesla given green light to build electric cars in China factory

US car maker Tesla has been given the permission to build electric cars at their China factory and has been added to the Chinese government’s list of approved car makers. The $2bn factory is expected to build up to 250,000 cars in one year. This is going to be China’s first foreign owned car plant.

Expect future Tesla Cars to stop responding to you as soon as you search up Winnie the Pooh or some Chinese human rights abuse, and then automatically drive you to the nearest chinese embassy underground parking lot.

That's disappointing. If they really have to go abroad, they'd really be better off in Mexico or India or something. China is the worst possible choice.
