Trump says Kurds are ’no angels’; Leaves Turkey and Syria ’to argue it out’

President Trump on Wednesday defended his decision to withdraw US troops from Syria. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, ’Syria and Turkey can fight…They’ve got a lot of sand over there. There’s a lot of sand that they can play with’. In reference to the Kurds, Trump said, ’They are no angels, by the way’.

None of the forces involved in Syria are angels, but the truth is the US shouldn't get involved in sectarian conflicts and nation building. Enough is enough, no more foreign wars, America first not world police!

Stays in Middle Eastern conflicts and countries: "The United States has no right in those countries. This nation are racist colonizers forcing peaceful nations into war and poverty! We need to leave to let the countries return to peace, and Trump is racist if we dont" Leaves Middle East to sort it's own conflicts: "The United States has no right to leave those countries. This nation is abandoning poor innocent people to nations filled with war and poverty! We need to stay to help them return to peace, and Trump is racist if we dont."

I love how we can all totally vilify Israel until we're blue in the face, but criticizing any other allies is just an offense of the highest order.

I am fully on the side of the president. Our military is the greatest, let's not waste it by drawing lines in the sand.

I was pretty disgusted watching the democratic debate and hearing everyone bash the decision to pull troops from northern Syria. That sentiment is completely out of touch with what the electorate wants. I believe we may see a political realignment if Republicans can actually capitalize on anti war sentiment. Lindsey Graham, Mike Pompeo, and several others are all warhawks that may prevent that once Trump leaves office though I'm afraid.

I love that the left have basically been puppeteered so far left that theyve actually Pac-Manned to the other side and have become the alt-right, agreeing with the war mongers in the republican party like Lindsay Graham. What a clown world we live in.

Historic move to remove troops, it's a been a long time since a president has missed an opportunity to sacrifice American lives to enrich the military-industrial complex. Now, take back the troops you sent to the Saudi rat 9/11 terrorists and America will truly be first.

syria and the kurds are already in talks to help fight the turk invasion. so see other countries can work shit out themselves. now if we get american money away from secretly backing both sides we'd be laughing.

The US had less than 100 troops in Syria near the area Turkey is attacking. I'm appalled at the warhawks in Congress that are backed by the industrial military complex that would use US military members as nothing more than human shields. Trump is the one that needs to address the families of fallen military members and he obviously didnt see a reason to justify the trivial sacrifice of American blood in a foreign war.

Well said. I wasn't so sure about how far right liberals have shifted when it comes to war, but reality definitely slapped me in the face after watching this last debate when almost everyone argued against pulling 50 troops from Syria.

And I've been arguing around with people telling them how disgusting kurds actually are. I know that from experience working as a social worker with them in Paris, they don't want to integrate to our wester society and values and hate our guts.

didn't Rump say isis has been defeated? cause I'm pretty sure they are still over there and pulling our troops out will let them get bigger and stronger. if they get outa control what makes you people think they won't come to America and start laying bombs around our city's like they do over there?
